About Put Me On

Sportscene’s Put Me On hits SA streets again as we kickoff the fifth edition of the music competition. The initiative, which is a collaboration between PUMA South Africa and Sportscene, aims to once again find and develop the country’s next rising star. Entries for the competition are now open and will close on 21 August 2022.

Put Me On has proven to be a main attraction on the youth and creative culture calendar with the competition receiving over 5000 entries in 2021. Last year the calibre of talent was out of this world – we crowned not one winner, but TWO – namely, Priddy Prince and Holy Alpha. They both have been given a boost to their music careers, each having worked on a single with top local producer, Zoocci Coke Dope as well as creating a professional music video.

By winning the Put Me On competition, they also gained plenty of tools to build their respective brands and take it to the next level. Other notable PMO participants include 2021’s Venusraps, Paris Skyy and Eddie Soul. As well as 2020’s Kiki x Chucky, Chaise Williams, Julezus and Zcasm. Let’s not forget the heat that came out of 2019 – with our winner Lucasraps (who went on to sign with Def Jam Recordings), alongside Costa Titch, Kash CPT and Indigo Stella, who have all gone on to have successful careers in the music industry.

As Sportscene, we’re passionate about investing in authentic South African talent and this year, we’re excited to have PUMA on board again this year – as we give the winner of Put Me On 2022 the ultimate platform to elevate their music career.
